Job description / Role
We are looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join our team in the oil and gas offshore industry in UAE. The HSE Manager will be responsible for overseeing all health, safety, and environmental aspects of the operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in accordance with local and international regulations
- Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks, and implement corrective actions
- Provide HSE training and induction programs for all employees and contractors, and ensure HSE awareness is promoted throughout the organization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HSE requirements are integrated into all operational activities and projects
- Investigate and report HSE incidents and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, and advise management on necessary actions to ensure compliance
- Lead emergency response and crisis management planning, and conduct regular drills and exercises to test preparedness
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics, and prepare reports for management review and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HSE Manager in the oil and gas offshore industry, with a focus on operational HSE management
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards relevant to the oil and gas industry, particularly in offshore operations
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Certification in HSE management (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA) and experience in conducting HSE training and inductions
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis, with the ability to develop and implement effective preventive measures
- Ability to develop and implement HSE management systems and drive a strong safety culture within the organization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret HSE data and identify trends and areas for improvement
- Bachelor's degree in HSE, engineering, or relevant field; a master's degree and professional HSE certifications will be a plus
