Senior Linux Administrator

Job description / Role

Client is currently looking for an Arabic/English speaking Senior Linux Administrator for a long term contract based in Riyadh.

You will be working on a MOI portal infrastructure from Windows to Red Hat Linux and you will need to have high level skills and competency to manage/ support this.

You will be in a position to add value to meet the stated business goals and objectives of the Project.

Requirements

Some of the key accountabilities and Activities include the following:
- Designing and performing system management, database management, configuration management, deep troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and enhancement.
- Implementing needed high availability and redundancy setup
- Setup, configuration, general maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux systems.
- Administration of server and storage hardware.
- Management of Linux systems and server applications.
- Assisting DBAs, Developers and QA users, with application operation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of Linux security best practices and forensic techniques, eg. tcpdump, wireshark, iptables
- Respond to service outages.
- Hardening and securing Linux based platform
- Performance tuning for the LINUX systems
- Setup needed monitoring and performance management for the Linux based platforms
- For developing and setup needed shell scripting and Linux task automation for automation purpose
- Oversee change management activities on the supported systems.
- Develop operations procedures, such as backups and recovery processes

Please note that you will need to be already working in Saudi Arabia with a transferable Iqama to be considered for this role.
