Debt Collector

Job description / Role

Debt Collector is responsible of delivering invoices and collection of outstanding debts from clients and achieve collection target to ensure positive cash flow. He/she is also responsible of maintain a debtors log to ensure that the debt status is accurate and latest and all due payments are done on time and as per the agreement. Debt Collector is also assigned to monitor slow moving accounts to identify delinquent debts and take necessary action to recover the debts.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Delivery of invoices to more than 300 clients monthly following a fix schedule depending on the value of invoice & area;
- Responsible for the debtors log;
- Collect payments simultaneously along with the delivery of invoices from at least 65% of the customers;
- Commit to the contractual payment terms agreed on with the client;
- Liaising with Accounts and Sales Department on any queries;
- Follow up for payments to collect due payments, and visit the clients when required;
- Submit collected payments to the accounts department on weekly basis;
- Submission of accurate invoice details to the Accounts Department;
- Report unpaid clients to the Chief Debt Collector, if they exceed the credit limit agreed on in the signed contractual agreement;
- Following up on unpaid debit orders to recover payments from completed projects through contacting and visiting the client;
- Recommend costumer for legal action if recovering of payment fails;
- Negotiating with clients on arrangements regarding payments and making recommendations to management to ensure Departmental guidelines in relation to installment agreements and the processing of debt received are adhered to;
- Account reconciliation;
- Maintain active accounts up to suspension;
- Debt collection duties may be extended to other Emirates based on the requirements of the department and clients;
- Responsible for complying with the applicable HSE procedures, instructions, requirements, laws, regulations applicable to his/her job requirements;
- Responsible for reporting to his/her superiors occurrences, events, violations and acts that may affect the environment, health, safety, ethics and company reputation;
- Responsible of working ethically;
- Build relationship between clients / colleagues/ departments / branches / business partners / dealers;
- Performing other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

- Education: Secondary / High School Degree/ Graduate.
- Professional Certification: Possession of, or ability to obtain a relevant certificate within the field of Debt collection,
- Specialized knowledge: UAE Roads and especially were the work Job is assigned.

- Other characteristics such as personal characteristics:
- Behavior, conduct and appearance must be consistent with company standards;
- Thorough and attentive to details.
- Experience: minimum of 2 years as a Debt Collector.
- Driving License: Required.

Working conditions
- Usually work regular hours, however, they may do shift work that includes weekends and evenings;
- Road Hindrances (speed limits, congestions, accidents) parking issues, Tough weather conditions;

Physical requirements
- Work out doors in all types of local weather conditions;
- Must be in Good health;
- No sleep deprivation.
