Manager Internal Control

Job description / Role

The role reports to a Director in Finance department and is based out off Head Office Abu Dhabi,

This position functions as a key member of the Etisalat Finance and Accounting team and is responsible for all Controls within the entire business operations across various departments through proper policies, procedures and processes.

The Manager is responsible for designing, implementing and managing a comprehensive structure of financial controls to protect company assets and interests, ensure reliability and integrity of financial information, compliance to international and local statutory and corporate standards, all transactions have the required authority and approvals and meets Etisalat internal control objectives at all times.

This position will require a high level of accounting knowledge, excellent leadership, communication skills and the ability/willingness to collaborate with business stakeholders to introduce controls across the company.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understand and identify the controls that needs to be established and applied across Etisalat in order to protect and maximize its assets and shareholder interest
- Adopt best in class industry practices in implementing internal controls function in the company
- Research, interpret and apply regulatory, statutory and industry standards and compliances to minimize exposure to business risks
- Implement and manage projects that may include, but not limited to, ensuring proper internal controls are applied across all business units and functions
- Regularly audit and update the adopted controls to ensure applicability and suitability to current business requirements and practices
- Directs implementation of improvements in process efficiencies and effectiveness through automation as required on various activities in the Section.
- Responsible for performance and development of managers and staff to learn, grow and be successful in roles.
- Identify exposure to business, operational & financial risks and initiate mitigation action to eliminate or reduce the impact from those identified risks to business
- Participate in the development and implementation of company and department objectives, and align, set and monitor career and incentive performance goals.
- Oversee the policy/ procedure/system administration for the internal controls in the company
- Adopt policies, procedures and systems with regard to the safety and confidentiality of information vital for the business within departments, sections, people and contractors
- Evaluate the performance and quality of service of Internal Controls section and consistently improve the productivity of the Section
- Involve in the tender/bid support and review the tender/ contract documentation to extract essential information such as payment terms and timings, budget, and also providing commercial and financial supports, wherever applicable.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Management from time to time.

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Finance and/or Accounting
- Applicants with Professional Accountancy qualification such as CA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent will be given an added advantage.
- Applicants with knowledge of applicable software and standards and extensive knowledge and certification in financial controls will be given an added preference.
- 4-5 years in-depth accounting/finance experience in Telecoms.
