Job description / Role
The Network Operations Center Engineer is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting significant, systemic connectivity issues that require advanced engineering expertise.
The engineer collaborates with other Tier 3 analysts as necessary to ensure that the managed services maintain their required service levels and security posture.
The engineer analyzes network performance and capacity, and proactively proposes capacity tunings within the architecture and design parameters of the system.
The engineer writes technical and operational documentation to support these modifications, and participates in change control or engineering review as necessary.
The engineer proactively notifies the NOC Manager when systems have exceeded their design parameters.
The engineer adds to the shared knowledge base for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Analysts. The engineer conducts Root Cause Analysis as directed by the NOC Manager.
The engineer liaises with the Technical Solution Architecture Group to identify performance or capacity issues.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of relevant experience
- Must have CISSP, CCIE, CCNA, CCNP certifications.
- Experience in Diagnosis and Troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Experience in architectural and design
- Experience in escalation methodologies
