Employment: Full Time

Our client, a leading bank in the UAE is on the lookout a Portfolio Manager - ALM/Liquidity (Treasury and Investments)

Purose: To help grow the ALM & Liquidity desk and to ensure that there is strong backup for the DCM & Liquidity Portfolio Manager. This will include working on the Liquidity Portfolio and assist in any related hedging for assets or liabilities for the ALM desk.

Job Dimensions

Quantifiable:
- To assist in meeting budgeted P&L for the year which comprises of income from liquidity portfolio and any related trading/hedging for ALM and
- To manage and grow the Liquidity Portfolio in line with approved limits and risk guidelines and ensure daily monitoring and reporting of the same
- To learn and understand the GCC and Non GCC Fixed Income Market with respect to Liquidity Portfolio and constantly provide team and management with market updates

Non Quantifiable:
- Internal people management capabilities in terms of being the investments point of contact for the traders and sales of external banks, back office operations, any other related business group in the bank.
- Work towards achieving any desired outcome with regard to systems for Treasury Front Office
- Works towards achieving any new initiatives i.e. via NPA’s, new product programmes for Liquidity desk
- Daily monitoring of portfolio and assist in trading and hedging for the Liquidity and ALM desk

Key Results Areas:
- To ensure full migration and usage of Murex system with respect to ALM/Funding desk swap transactions and Fixed Income Module i.e. Phase IV for the Liquidity portfolio.
- To ensure all requirements are met via Murex Phase IV implementation for Liquidity Desk
- To assist in booking and reporting any derivative hedging for the bond portfolio or balance sheet i.e. ALM
- To assist in repo programme initiatives for the Liquidity desk in either Tripartite or Bilateral format

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Managing and monitoring ALM/ Liquidity desk activities on a daily basis, regularly interacting with Investment Banks on day to day issues.
- Liaise with Back office and Middle office for any day to day activities related to booking deals, interest income, and revaluations of the bonds/swaps in the Liquidity portfolio and ensure full responsibilities for ensuring all trades are logged on time with regard to Treasury Operations.
- Ensure full migration and usage of Murex system with respect to ALM/Funding desk swap transactions and Fixed Income Module for the Liquidity portfolio.
- Any other desk related activity or duty that may evolve over time.

Requirements

- Graduate degree with a MBA in Finance and preferably a CFA
- At least 4 years of banking experience preferably in Fixed Income and derivative market operations and also relevant experience in GCC markets
- Good technical skills, market and product knowledge and capable of responding to change in both the working and market environment
