Due to continued success in the country we are now seeking an experienced Technical Assistant (Procurement) to join our already established commercial team in Abu Dhabi.

Requirements

The Technical Assistant (Procurement) is responsible for the review and evaluation of all project tenders, and will hold the following responsibilities and duties:

Assists the Director and Procurement Officers in the performance of the procurement functions. Maintains confidentiality of the procurement related information to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the procurement process.
Maintains the schedule and leave records of the Director and Procurement Officers.
Coordinates meeting, conferences, retreats, travel and conference arrangements.
Procures small purchases for the Procurement Department as applicable and required.
Analyze facts and circumstances involved in making recommendations for solving administrative problems within the limits of standard or acceptable management and administrative practices.
Conduct research into matters of general or specific concerns, which affect the management and administration of Procurement Department.
Respond to enquiries to the Procurement Department and passes them to appropriate persons.
Develop, organize, and oversee the maintenance of central filing systems
Compile data for reports, store and retrieve management data for the preparation of special and recurring reports as needed.
Interact with Procurement staff in the coordination and follow-up of assignments.
Receive and process incoming mail and correspondence, and determine the proper assignment, distribution, date and follow-up action required.
Maintains the confidentially and integrity of critical documents and information relative personnel and the overall functions of Procurement Department.
Assures compliance with directives, special instructions, procedures and deadlines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

College Diploma / Graduate Degree preferred
A science background or Technical certifications preferred
Approx. 3-4 years contracting/ procurement experience in major infrastructure projects or oil & gas, or rail/airline/logistics operations
Analytical skills to conduct research and recommend solutions
Advance proficiency in MS Office packages
Knowledge of contract documents and specifications
Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
Knowledge of contractor compliance issues and procedures.
Interpersonal skills
Communicating effectively: Good command of English language
Concern for order/attention to details

Ability to take initiative and recommend decisions
Must have outstanding communication skills in written and spoken English
Must be a proactive team player but also able to work on own initiative
Must be able to work both independently with a proactive approach and collaboratively as part of a multi-cultural team.
Should be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Experienced of working in the Middle East is preferred.
