Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Responsible for ensuring that the technicians assigned complete their required paperwork correctly, legibly and completely.
- Responsible for ensuring that all completed paperwork packages for assigned aircraft are relayed to Quality Control in a timely manner, in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that all manpower, equipment and materials assigned are properly allocated and accounted for.
- Responsible for ensuring that all work performed by the assigned mechanics adheres to the Aircraft and Appliance manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, as well as with Company policies and procedures .
- Must be able to read, understand and relay complex direction found in technical data, such as engineering orders, fleet campaign directives, maintenance manuals, and blueprints. Able to read and understand the applicable aircraft maintenance manuals and/or blueprints proficiently.
- Responsible for ensuring that the work areas and equipment are clean and well maintained, pre and post shift.
- Responsible for ensuring that all safety procedures and instructions are followed.
- Performs structural repairs on aircraft and support equipment.
- Work directly on the aircraft and its components fulfilling such tasks as removal, repair, modification and installation of parts and assemblies.
- Complete all necessary manual and automated records required by Company directives.
- Identify metal corrosion. Performs necessary testing to identify type corrosion present by examination with magnifying equipment, chemical and mechanical methods and treats aircraft engines, in accordance with applicable technical publications.
- Comply with the requirements of the FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.
- Troubleshoot aircraft structural repair situations in such areas as fuselage, tails, wings, cowlings, and stabilizers.
- Repair cracks in aircraft skin. Fabricates and fits patches to damaged areas, determining repair detail necessary to retain or restore original strength.
- Prepare and design layout, dies, jigs, and templates necessary to carry out fabrication repair or modification of aircraft.
- Identify, blend, store, control, and dispose of hazardous materials such as acids, caustics, alcohols, solvents, cleaners, primers and surface coatings used far corrosion removal, treatment and protection in accordance with applicable directives.
- Must effectively interact with Company and customer representatives as well as with representatives of on-site business or military entities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the on-site Maintenance Manager or Aircraft Mechanic Sr.

- High School diploma or GED.
- FAA A License
- Two (2)+ years of experience in aircraft structural repair.
- Two (2)+ years related experience and/or training.
- Completions of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair.
- Knowledge of the assigned airframe, technical manuals, and publications.
- Working knowledge of assigned aircraft forms and records and standard operating procedures.
- Must have experience with structures / sheet metal or composite repairs, alterations, installations, fabrication and modifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
