Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

AFGS is seeking an experienced Manager to oversee all aspects of a Life Support to include but not limited to: client relations, dining facility operations and control, housekeeping, maintenance, finance, team building and staff development.

KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for site operations at two client sites and one company site in the Kabul area.
- Supervision and coordination of LS operations, controlling and administration of departments
- Assuring day to day operations are based on HACCP
- Overseeing stock ordering, distribution and controls.
- Complies with all site LSA related policies, standards and procedures
- Cost and budget control of operations by department to ensure profitablity
- Implementation, ongoing maintenance and improvement of the quality standards
- Responsible for adherence to all relevant hygiene (HACCP), safety and environmental regulations
- Responsibility for the careful handling of all equipment and machinery in the entire operations
- Available 7 x 24 as main POC for clients regarding inquiries and daily operations
- Responsible for motivating staff and ensuring service is carried out in a friendly, competent manner
- Responsible for planning, organizing, delegating special functions in the operations
- Responsible for checking service schedules for the departments
- Coordinates and supervises LSA site employees schedules
- Responsible for Monthly site reports for the project operations
- Responsible for ensuring site efficiency while managing daily issues and promoting excellent leadership skills
- Employee relations coordinator
- Supervise and control stocks for operations
- Control of site expenses and goods/ingredients/material usage
- Supervise & train staff to ensure best services are provided
- Work with LSA departments & maintenance on daily operations
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining professionalism among the team
- Responsible for coordination and implementation of clients events
- Responsible for supervising and guiding staff in order to maintain industrial peace, good employee relations and ensuring a high degree of staff morale and discipline
- Minimization of exposures and risk on the project.
- Responsible for preparation of engagement reviews and quality assurance inspections
- Ensure Proper Training of concerned staff in handling the equipment
- Ensure catering, custodial, laundry and LSA services is of the Highest Standard
- Responsible for establishing and enforcement of hygiene Standards (HACCP) for the project and ensuring maximum compliance of Clients’
- Responsible for Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures

Requirements

- Capable of running all the departments involved in LSA
- Leadership skills, assertiveness, flexibility and organizational skills as well as being capable of motivating staff by team building
- Self-assured and calm manner towards staff and client
- Pleasant and polite manner, well-groomed appearance
- Cost and quality awareness
- Food production experience and back ground
- Experience in hostile environment
- Knowledge and understanding of cost control and wastage plan
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and other items that supersede the identified priorities
- Works independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds
- Highly efficient with excellent organizational and logical skills
- Team player with an aptitude for building high performance teams
- Knowledge in catering and kitchen management at different levels

In order to be considered for the role the successful candidate must have experience in the above responsibilities and match the following criteria.
- Professional training in the hotel, catering sector, food production, or hospitality management
- Several years practical experience in similar operations
- Experience in managing tasks under pressure in hostile environment
- Proficient English language skills, as well as good general education
- Due to the location of this position, applicants must be physically fit
