Director of Sales and Marketing

Job description / Role

- Develop and implement sales and marketing plans based on demand segments and maximize REVPAR
- Assure that sales and marketing plans are appropriate for each sales period, including special plans to maximize room revenue during forecasted low occupancy
- Know key accounts and actively “sell” through sales calls, property tours etc
- Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing functions.
- Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology.
- Monitor sales staff performance to ensure that goals are met.
- Pro-actively solicit new clients for assigned hotel by making face-to-face sales calls in the assigned market on a regular basis as appropriate.
- Attend company meetings to exchange product information and coordinate work activities with other departments.
- Prepare weekly sales report listing daily efforts, including a summary of all definite and tentative business booked along with any cancellations and/ or lost business.
- Responsible for achieving budgeted corporate and group segment goals as established in the business plan.
- Identify and analyze competitor hotels both locally and regionally.
- Prepare and update a sales action plan indicating all future efforts, goals and objectives outlining weekly sales efforts in a planned, organized realistic plan to develop and grow hotel’s penetration within the assigned segment.
- Ensures that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.
- Assist in preparation of revenue and occupancy forecasts
- Forecasts and accurately records and all bookings and cancellations.
- Is a leader in Revenue Management to ensure that maximum revenues/yields are achieved.
- Participates in select sales activities both on and off property.
- Coordinates and conducts periodic pricing reviews.
- Know the hotel’s demand segments and sources of business for each
- Know the principle competition for each demand segment and take advantage of the company’s relative strengths against each
- Prepare and participate in Trade and travel shows
- Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
- Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
- Manage and coordinate all design and printing materials for the company
- Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
- Manage and coordinate digital marketing activities for the company (Social media, google etc)
- Manage and coordinate online selling channels such as booing.com, expedia etc
- Be responsible for Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans.
- Be responsible for Planning and implementing promotional campaigns.
- Manage and improve lead generation campaigns, measuring results.
- Overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
- Preparing online and print marketing campaigns.
- Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications.
- Creating a wide range of different marketing materials.
- Working closely with design agencies
- Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree or Diploma or Bachelor Degree or MS degree in Marketing
- Five years hotel sales experience of which at least two years has been as Senior Sales & Marketing executive
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience in advertising and promotional activities.
- Computer literacy required including ability to understand and interpret financial data.
- Highly energetic with demonstrated exceptional organization and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
