Commercial Manager

Job description / Role

A Quantity Surveyor with the ability to commercially manage large scale construction projects is required to work for a leading construction company in Baku, Azerbaijan. The company are an end user with the capability to deliver their own projects and the successful candidate will commercially manage a large residential development for the delivery side of the business.

The project is a large high end residential development comprising of a large number of low rise (circa 5 stories) buildings and over 1,000 units. This is a permanent role and the company have other long term projects for the successful candidate to move on to after completion.

The successful candidate will report into the Group Commercial Director for the business whilst being responsible for the day to day commercial activities on the project.

Requirements

- A degree (or similar equivalent qualification) in a construction related subject is required
- Experience of managing large scale construction projects is essential. Candidates must have previous experience of commercially managing a project in excess of US $100m (as a guide) from start to final accounts
- Candidates who have a strong main contracting background are required. Preferably experienced with blue chip, international main contractors.
- Previous International experience would be an advantage but not essential for suitably qualified Commercial Managers who have successfully managed large projects in their home country

The hiring company is one of the largest businesses in Azerbaijan and have many arms to the business fulfilling a range of business activities. They majorly involved in the construction of residential, retail and leisure facilities in Baku and also act as the end user for almost all of their construction projects.

They have over several billion USD of work secured at this moment in time and are continuing to grow. They have strong links with the local government and a reputation in Azerbaijan which is second to none when delivering the largest and most prestigious projects in the country.

Basic Salary:
Equivalent of £68k - £76k NET Basic Salary (paid is USD's)

Allowances:
Circa US $1.5k - $2k per month accommodation allowance, car allowance

Benefits:
2 x Flights home per annum, Medical Cover, Life Insurance, 28 Days holiday + public holiday (approx 13 days)
