Job description / Role
- Gathering requirements
- Meeting with GIS core team
- Meeting with GIS coordinators
- Preparing functional specifications document
- UML based specifications
- Logical Data Model
- Preparing Design Documents
- Physical Data Model Classes
- Carrying on Application Development work
- Deliver new functionalities to existing GIS applications
- Develop new functionalities to core software (ArcGIS / ArcFM)
- Develop new GIS applications (desktop and web)
- Maintain existing GIS applications
- Testing Application
- Prepare test plans
- Conduct unit testing
- Conduct functional testing
- Conduct integration testing
- Conduct final application testing
- Preparing User Manual
- Perform any related jobs as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Have BS or MS degree in Computer Science
- Have at least three years of proven experience in
- Writing requirements, specifications, design documents, testing plans and user manuals in English
- Using Microsoft Development Tools
- Using fluently SQL queries for ORACLE 10g/11g and for SQL Server 2008/2012
- Using fluently VB.NET/ASP.Net for desktop application
- Using fluently ESRI ArcGIS 10.x object library for desktop applications development (ArcObjects)
- Using fluently the ESRI ArcGIS 10.x products (ArcMap/ArcCatalog)
Other essential skills that are required:
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Good communication skills
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to work seamlessly in a team environment
- Arabic Language is a plus
In addition to the above, the following skills are not essential but would be an advantage:
- Using ESRI ArcGIS Server 10.x for web development
- Using SharePoint 2013 for SharePoint applications development and workflow
- Using the Schneider Electric ArcFM 10.x product
- Using the Computer languages required for the GIS development using ArcFM Products
- Using C# and Java for desktop and web applications
- Developing tools for Electric and Water Utility networks
