Employment: Full Time

Assistant General Manager (Industrial Manufacturing or Material Processing)

Assistant General Manager's role is to ensure overall operational excellence, including finance, budgeting, P/L, quality control/assurance, energy efficiency, maintenance, capital projects, environmental, health and safety issues, and personnel development.
- Plans operating schedules for maximum efficiency and maximum use of equipment
- Manage operations, sales, marketing, marine units movement, manpower, budgets, as per the business needs
- Schedules maintenance of equipment and/or plants to insure maximum production capabilities
- Manage and assist with researching new ways to cut costs and improve loading and unloading procedures
- Manage and assist by following and ensuring compliance with government and corporate policies and objectives, including safety, personnel, insurance, work force needs, etc.
- Provide day-to-day management to the overall operation
- Build and maintain a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, employee development and succession planning
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control compliance
- Act as point of contact for customers, sales, public, port authority, tenders and others.
- Create a culture focused on teamwork, effective communication and problem solving through daily discussion and decision making involvement
- Produce creative solutions and use appropriate problem solving techniques to resolve plant issues such as formulation trouble, employee conflicts, material shortages, and process breakdowns
- Supervise crews to obtain top-quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork and pride
- Maintain proper staffing and budget levels
- Utilize strategic planning in determining future needs of the operation
- Review production costs, taking action necessary to control those costs
- Develop strategic planning for the betterment of the company
- Plan and assign work to subordinates, and monitor the same
- Improve company's productivity
- Prepare periodical reports
- Provide the required support in the safe, effective, efficient and economic management of all aspects of the onshore and offshore operation, maintenance and overhaul of tugs, barges and its equipment's, including the surveys and insurance aspects.
- Monitor or report on new or current legislation, which may impact on the operation of the company
- Suggest and provide input to the Management reference to the provision of overhaul strategy.
- Fully responsible on managing the team towards maintaining the overall activity of the company including recruitment, development of existing staff, and succession planning.
- Establish and develop Management Processes
- Prepare and monitor budgets. Produce monthly and annual budget reports for the business.
- To support the GM for managing the crewing of Ships and selections
- Provide the required technical advice to the management

Requirements

- Professionally Qualified Mechanical Engineer with MBA in Finance & Admin
- Managerial experience of at least 8 years in an industrial manufacturing or material processing establishment
- Leadership quality, liaison skills and a motivator
- Cost conscious with analytical skills, and awareness to work within budgets
- Decision making skills
- Fluency in effective and factual communications in English, oral & written
- Enthusiast, and quick & eager learner
- Must have international car driving license
