Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Based in Bahrain our client is a leading Islamic retail bank, providing a diverse range of Sharia compliant products.

They are currently looking for an Assistant Manager Financial & Regulatory Reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review submission from all subsidiaries in reporting package.
- Prepare and review annual and interim consolidated financial statements in accordance with AAOIFI (including preparation of statement of equity, cash flows and notes).
- Prepare and review Annual Report.
- Review of Financial Advertisement, press release and ensure timely publication thereof.
- Liaising with external auditors for review of the financial information.
- Assist in preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reports to the Senior Management and Board including but not limited to performance reports, liquidity, capital adequacy etc.
- Coordinate on submission from all subsidiaries in reporting package.
- Prepare and input the consolidated results to Parent Company reporting system
- Liaising with external auditors for review of the financial information.
- Responding to queries from Parent Company on timely basis.
- Review and approve journal entries of certain subsidiaries based in Bahrain.
- Review trial balance of these subsidiaries and input into reporting package for consolidation purposes.
- Monitor and analyze performance of these subsidiaries (month-to-month, budget comparison etc.).
- Review financial information of these subsidiaries after input in reporting package.
- Coordinate with external auditors for audit of these subsidiaries.
- Review various regulatory reports prepared for submission to the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB)
- Responding to queries from the CBB (including financial statements clearance) on timely basis.

Requirements

- Bachelors of Commerce Bachelors of Science in Accounting
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent ACA/CPA/ACCA
- Minimum 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in banking industry.
- Complete understanding of AAOIFI accounting standards
- Complete understanding of IFRS
- Experience of Islamic banking industry (financial controls)
- Experience of regulatory reporting relating to CBB
- Experience of preparing and reviewing financial statements.
