Assistant Underwriter

Job description / Role

Our client is a leading insurance & reinsurance company in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are assisting them in recruiting an Assistant Underwriter.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis, and collecting information on clients seeking insurance.
- Perform pricing and negotiation decisons in accordance with the company's guidelines.
- Underwriting profitable risks
- Handling client and brokers.
- Supporting the business growth.
- May have to ensure policy transactions, such as renewals or quotes, are issued and changes are recorded correctly.
- Analyze applications and screen applicants based on the company's criteria.
- Provide clarification for questions concerning a policy status or billing error on behalf of an underwriter.

Requirements

- Must be able to speak Russian fluently, written and verbally, in order to deal with customers.
- Has Chemical engineering or any engineering experience.
- Is a mathematical & statistics, or Economics or architect graduate.
- Must have experience in engineering underwriting.
- Ideally someone who enjoys dealing with complex equations.
- Posses analytical and technical skills.
