Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- To ensure highest standards of Customer Service levels are attained across stores in the bakery department
- To ensure high standard of merchandising is maintained at all times prior to achieve sales targets in the department
- To agree a production plan with all bakery departments and to monitor the implementation of the plan and review/ amend it as needed to maximise sale, reduce wastage and reduce staff and other expenses.
- To review the offering in the department and make sure that the products on display are giving the expected returns.
- To ensure the stocks and order procedures are efficiently implemented to maintain sales, supervise stock levels, so that quality and freshness is of highest standard
- To coordinate between different stores to maintain consistent standards in all stores including product availability
- To review the recipes regularly and work with the stores and trading to ensure that the GOLD information is accurate and up to date.
- To ensure all staff are adequately trained and supervised and to monitor ‘work rate’ of all staff in the department at all times
- To coach and develop people within the departments & all the new joiners to improve overall product range and service standards.
- To source and/or develop new products, ensure their introduction in all stores and review the range to ensure profitable products are maintained by the departments
- To liaise with suppliers to ensure supplier service levels are maintained and negotiate promotions and prices to get best deals.
- To work with Marketing and stores to develop/ improve packaging and implement the changes across stores.
- May be required to carry out ad hoc duties for the company within scope of skills and experience

Requirements

- Certificate in Baking or equivalent, with a relevant diploma preferable
- Fluency in spoken & written English (with spoken Arabic a distinct advantage)
- Minimum of five year experience, leading a team as a baker with a multi-store organised retailer, Experience in stock management & production planning.
