Civil Engineer

Job description / Role

- Oversees construction of projects from beginning to completion representing the Consultant.
- Coordinates design and planning to ensure design standards are met and maintained.
- Conducts and performs site inspections during various stages of the construction
- Reviews construction technical documentations for accuracy, feasibility, quality and conformance to industry standards.
- Supervises and guides other staff throughout the construction process.
- Acts as a link between Client and the contractor.
- Liaises with sub consultants.
- Chairs and manages progress and other meetings.
- Approval of drawings and material
- Approval of sub-contractors
- Overall project administration including control of variations, valuations, approvals, certifications, etc.
- Ensures all construction processes are completed as per safety and quality guidelines.
- Responsible for completion of the project within time limit.
- Responsible for quality management of the work.
- To liaise with authorities for utility connections and Civil Defense.
- Ensures the implementation of the project according to the agreement and Conditions of Contract.
- Identification of delay, if any , and agreeing with the contractor the remedy to rectify the situation
- Preparation of Final Account and Snagging.
- Follow up with the contractor during Defect Liability Period for defects and rectifications.
- Liaises with other engineers with the consultant such as the architect, structural engineer and quality surveyor.
- Applies office standards and procedures.

Requirements

- Minimum of 12 years experience with consultancy offices and particularly in projects supervision.
- All necessary skills for projects management and administration.
- Excellent technical knowledge in construction area
- Experience with government projects
- Good knowledge of FIDIC and JCT Conditions of Contracts
- Good knowledge in the use of appropriate software’s required for the job.
- Excellent communication and managerial skills
- Holds GCC or local Driving License
