Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key tasks
- Direct the Hotel's Human Resources / Training department and programs in the areas of recruitment, employment, compensation, classification, performance management, labour relations, training, and organizational development.
- Ensure the Human Resources Department conforms to the policies and procedures as laid out by law and management with a high standard operating system.
- Make day to day decisions based on group and company policies & procedures.
- Ensure open communications with the Hotel Associate Committee.
- Create and maintain a positive atmosphere within the hotel allowing open two-way communication that ensure morale and productivity reach the highest possible levels.
- Evaluate departmental procedures to streamline and/or automate processes, improve customer service, reduce paper-flow, and improve human resources data management; plan and implement changes as required.
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates unit staff.
- Develop and manage annual HRT budgets for the organization and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.
- Design and develop Ibis Hotels Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual and ensures that these are in line with current legislation and keep abreast of current trends and practises in the HR field; may serve on Hotel planning and policy-making committees.
- Responsible for the dissemination of information affecting employer-employee relations, employee activities and hotel policies and programmes.
- Finalize all monthly and periodic HRT reporting requirements.
- Spearhead the annual review and update of all position & candidate profiles and job descriptions within each department.
- Develop with the GM the hotel's succession plan, including the internal transfer list, the ACCOR Hotels CV notifications and regional vacancy listings.

Essential and optional requirements
- Direct recruitment and selection of Hotel employees; develop and maintain positive applicant relations and provides technical guidance to hiring associates; coordinate functions in compliance with Bahrain Private Sector Labour Law.
- Oversee the development and implementation of orientation programs for all associates.
- Coordinate the administration and negotiation of bargaining with necessary recruitment agencies.
- Direct and coordinate training and organizational development programs through Heads of Department that address personal, professional, and organizational needs of Ibis Hotels Bahrain associates and departments.
- Oversee staff wage and salary programs; ensure regulatory compliance and competitive salary levels necessary to attract and retain qualified staff.
- Direct the administration of health insurance, associate accommodation and transportation, and other benefit programs; evaluate and develop recommendations for improvements to Ibis Hotels -sponsored benefit programs.
- Develop and coordinate grievance and performance management programs designed to minimize and mediate workplace disputes, and to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Responsible for the Staff accommodation and issues related thereof.
- Implement the Induction and orientation of new employees in accordance with ACCOR Hotels guidelines.
- Implements Hotel's rules & regulations, the grievance and disciplinary procedure, consulting with department heads on appropriate action.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Develops the implementation of programmes to ensure employee security, safety and satisfaction.
- Comply with Hotel standards in relation to Hotel's Security, Health & Safety and Hygiene policy.
