Employment: Full Time

Corporate Communications Officer (fluent Arabic speaking,reading, writing essential)

Responsibilities:

Information Sharing:
- Proactively undertake all media and social media monitoring. Highlight, disseminate and track relevant articles ensuring timely and accurate distribution in both English and Arabic.
- Update the Communication Mangers ‘Key Information’ pack regularly and advise of updates.
- Undertake the drafting/updating and distribution of Communications policies and procedures.
- Research and maintain a calendar of all industry awards, manage submission process and draft Communication announcements.

Content Support:
- Draft content in Arabic, as required in line with approved English content.
- Manage translations and quality control of external translation service, providing advice and guidance where needed.
- Develop and update local pitch books in line with Group polices
- Provide advice on content in terms of local culture and practises.
- Develop content related to Communications activity including, but not limited to: research, drafting, editing and approval of content such as: news flashes, communications updates, client letters /correspondence, preparation of major presentations, briefing packs, content for staff etc.
- Support the Brand approval process and become team ‘Brand Expert’.

Events Support:
- Undertake research into event venues scope out suitability, costs etc. Develop proposals for team approval and review.
- Support where needed, logistics of internal and external events under the direction of the Events Coordinator.

Operational Support:
- Liaise with external Arabic speaking suppliers /partners.
- Responsibility for communication team finance process including; monthly phone bill recharges, organisation of quotes and LPOs, invoice processing and follow up. Maintain the team finance log and filing system and provide support with monthly accruals and P&L.
- Coordinate the collation of branded items, including but not limited to; client greeting cards, merchandise, maintaining stock and inventory levels and ensuring all items are recharged as required.
- Ensure that communications and files received from Group and or external agencies are saved electronically in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain the team image and video library, including: inventory, saving and logging of all files.
- Coordinate monthly communications meeting with the business locally and communications counterparts internationally

Crisis:
- Manage the regional SMS communications portal and ensure that Crisis contact lists are regularly updated.
- Support the Management Team in times of a wider crisis, ensuring that updates are received/issued in a relevant, timely and accurate manner, including the cascade global press releases, holding statements, Q&A’s, management announcements locally internally.

Other:
- Undertake any reasonable requests for additional Communications related duties, as delegated by the Corporate Communications Manager.
- Due to the nature and sensitivities of this role, the incumbent will be required to be responsive and work outside of normal working hours.

Requirements

- Native (or fluent) Arabic
- Fluent English
- Solid writing and proofing skills in UK English with expert understanding of spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Accuracy
- Professionalism and utmost confidentiality
- Ability to be extremely proactive and reactive
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Highly organised and efficient
- Proficiency in Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Minimum of 4 – 6 years working in a corporate environment in a Marketing or Communications role
