Database Administrator

Job description / Role

• Database performance optimization of all databases
• Plan and implement backup and recovery of databases.
• Implement and enforce security on all IPS databases.
• Provide technical support for application development and testing teams.
• Database upgrades and periodical patching of applications and databases.
• Monitor and maintain database storage resources.
• Maintain database documentation as required.
• Follow Change Management processes to implement database configuration changes.
• Follow Problem Management processes to troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues.
• Deployment and optimization of applications.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of relevant work experience in core database and application administration.
• WebLogic administration experience an added advantage.
• Experience administering Oracle, MySQL and SQL Server databases.
• Experience with Oracle 11g/12c RDBMS, Oracle 11g/12c RAC, OEM 13c, RMAN, Oracle Data guard (Physical and Active), Golden Gate, Partitioning, Advanced Security and Audit Vault.
• Exadata, Super Cluster administration experience.
• SQL, PL/SQL, Unix, and/or Shell programming experience.
• Willingness to participate on an on-call rotation and work outside of regular business hours.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Oracle Certified Professional 12c certification a must.
