Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is an Asset Management company. On behalf of our client, we are recruiting an experienced Director Finance & Accounting.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contributes towards the company’s annual strategic plans and budgets
- Monitors organizational progress towards objectives and key performance indicator
- Participates in transforming the company's strategy into operational plans focusing on own functions
- Reviews and approves departmental policies and procedures
- Promotes and maintains business development aspects of the organization as well as establishing solid relationship with all associating organizations
- Manages employees under supervision and ensure they possess the skills and knowledge required for quality works
- Verifies efforts are directed towards set goal achievements as well as builds and maintains high level of employee engagement
- Leads and supports reporting employees, ensuring clear goals and accountabilities are established and achieved
- Ensure underlying Accounting records are accurate, complete and in accordance with company accounting standards.
- Approves and implements accounting policy and other related policies in line with statutory requirements and ensures that the policy is adhered on a daily basis
- Oversees the closing, consolidation of monthly accounts and approves all journal entries
- Oversees preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as presents them to the parties concerned
- Oversees the preparation of management accounting reports and provides insights on the figures reported as well as proactively liaises with responsible employees to justify any outlying numbers and variances
- Oversee the company’s transaction processing system
- Safeguard of assets
- Supervise cash management activities
- Identifies and resolves funding constraints at grant/department levels
- Verifies that internal control procedures are in place and in line with best practice and as per the company’s policy
- Lead procurement of company purchases
- Facilitates internal & external audits and ensures that audit recommendations are being implemented
- Reviews financial terms of any contracts to be signed in the name of organization.

Requirements

- Relevant Postgraduate Degree
- 10 years' relevant work experience
- 5 years on Managerial Level
- Analytical mind and decision making ability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
