Employment: Full Time

Role Summary:
A gas turbine thermal performance engineer will be executing highly technical services on various gas turbine models. The successful execution of these global services will require that the engineer adhere to internal processes while being open to challenges that may arise.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Compliance with company policies and adherence to operating procedures
- Review commercial guarantees, test expectations/requirements, and develop performance test procedures.
- Prepare, plan, and execute thermal performance tests on gas turbines
- Analyze data, calculate test results, diagnose and evaluate testing issues and lead development of corrective actions as needed
- Prepare test reports for internal and external distribution
- Lead performance risk mitigating activities during various phases of project execution
- Communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers regarding testing activities, schedules, and technical issues
- Identify and report in-field sales opportunities
- Lead continued development and improve
- Conduct peer reviews on field test data and customer deliverables
- The position requires approximately 50% travel in 1 to 4 week intervals, to destinations around the world. **This is an estimate; travel requirements vary, with peak outage seasons seeing higher percentages and peak demand seasons seeing less travel.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
- A four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, thermodynamic cycles and applied fluid mechanics
- Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments.
- Proficient in the use of computers and PC software
- Fluent in English language.

- Advanced degree in Engineering
- Familiar with testing and measurement systems and with data interpretation
- Familiar with thermodynamic modelling and analysis programs
- Self-starter, driving continuous self-improvement and development
- Team and customer focus
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
- Experience processing large amounts of data
- Prior testing experience following industry standards
- Communicates messages clearly and concisely
- Strong analytical skills working independently and in a team
- Knowledge of thermal performance and operation of power plants and power plant equipment
- Programming skills
