General Manager - Architecture

Job description / Role

Client is a one of the leading full-service architecture, interior design and planning firms with a strong presence across the Middle East and Asia. They are currently looking for a General Manager to lead their business in Bahrain.

Reporting into the Group CEO, you will have full P&L responsibility for their architecture & interior design business unit. You will be fully responsible for all operational and strategic management of the business.

You will also be responsible for the following:
- Prepare the annual business plan outlining and long & short term plans, and oversee the execution of these plans. These plans will include Operational and Financial type of plans.
- Manage the Project Management team and ensure the projects are executed in accordance to the agreed time frames and budgets.
- Act as the face of the business, which will require him to meet clients on a regularly basis and ensure business continuity and the inflow of new projects.
- Responsible for overall performance of the organization.
- Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the CEO and staff with the development of long range and annual plans with the evaluation and reporting of progress on plans.
- Identify new business opportunities and ways to enlarge present scope of works.
- Oversee the preparation of Annual Report summarizing progress on short and long range plans.
- Research and analysis of documents and proposals as needed to assist the organization in determining and meeting its long and short term goals.
- Ensure efficiency in every aspect of the operations.
- Ensure compliance to Company and Group policies & practices and Government regulations in all facility activities and transactions.
- Coordination with major clients, contractors, team of the engineers from inception to project execution.
- Liaise with Project Managers to for proper execution of projects.
- Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Provide vision regarding overall financial health of the company.
- Review the Financial performance reports before submitting to CEO.

Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Masters or Doctoral and degree in Management would also be an advantage.

You should ideally have more than 15 years of experience having worked at various levels within organizations in the architectural field, and at least 10 years commercial management in an architectural or design environment and have proven track record of senior, strategic leadership and team management and addition to strong financial acumen.

Due to the seniority of this role, you must be result oriented with proven experience in developing operational plans, financial plans, business plans, and budgets for managing facility performance.
