Job description / Role
The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative seeks a legal consultant/staff attorney to assist the Program Director and legal specialists to implement and manage ABA ROLI’s programs in Bahrain and the Gulf. The role is full-time for a period of 4 to 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Work with local and regional partners on program activities; Plan and conduct seminars, workshops and other training events; Prepare legal reports and assessments on substantive programmatic issues.
- Assist with preparation of quarterly, monthly, and/or final program reports; Monitor legal developments, prepare legal analysis and background materials; Assist with visiting legal specialists' orientations; Any other duties necessary to the position.
Requirements
- Law degree (Masters or JD or equivalent an advantage)
- Fluency in Arabic and excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Bahrain resident or experience living in the region preferred.
- Excellent computer skills - MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience
