Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Agreement Drafting and Revision: Prepare / Review Islamic banking and finance documentation and other legal contracts for ensuring that Bank’s legal rights are adequately protected, in all activities undertaken by the Bank;
- Strategy: Formulate legal strategies for the legal cases filed by/against the bank to ensure that the Bank’s interest are effectively safeguarded and legal obligations are carried out effectively;
- External Lawyers: liaise external lawyers to implement the strategies, and ensure adequate monitoring/follow up;
- Legal Advice: Provide and recommend accurate legal advice/opinion to the Management and Staff to ensure that decision making are legally correct and that bank’s interest are protected;
- Legal Awareness: Maintain an awareness of developments in the legal field which might affect the bank and prepare reports on relevant matters for consideration by management;
- Subsidiaries Support: Assist the various subsidiaries of the bank with Legal issues governing these entities; and
- Legal Representation: Represent the Bank at meeting with external bodies to ensure that legal aspects of any decisions are fully considered.

Requirements

- Minimum 7 years in retail Islamic banks legal work.
- Thorough knowledge of Bahraini/GCC and International (especially English ) law.
- Thorough knowledge of the banking work and functions.
- University Degree in Law. Higher level qualifications desirable.
- Strong legal skills / Ability to interpret legal statutes.
- Ability to draw up good/implementable strategies.
- Highly developed negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent representational Skills.
- Excellent skills in writing business legal reports and correspondence.
- Excellent analytical skills.
