Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a Life Guard you are responsible to monitor activities in the swimming area to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers. Duties are to be carried out after passing the necessary legal requirements as set the relevant legal authorities where the duties will be carried out.

- Ensure the swimming pool is clean
- Ensure the sun loungers are clean, in the correct position and in working order
- Monitor swimming pool activity
- Assist anybody who is in difficulty in and around the pool area
- Check the temperature of the pool to ensure they are at set standard
- Ensure the pool deck is always clean of any debris during the operation
- Ensure that the pool deck is swept and watered down and that all furniture is in correct place during morning set up
- Ensure that the umbrellas are fixed properly to their units and tidied down when not in use
- Assist in First Aid
- Clear all dirty towels and hand them to reception for laundry
- To conduct swimming lessons if required
- Report any Guest’s feedback, comments or complaints to your Department Head immediately
- To know the rules and regulations of the club and how to deal with Guest applications on memberships
- Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment
- Comply with the hotel environmental, health and safety policies and procedures

Requirements

Good English skills, experienced in beach or pool environments, strong swimming skills, First Aid or Lifesaving skills is an asset, good team working skills. The need to be vigilant at all times is high in this position.
