Our client – one of the largest and oldest (established more than 100 years ago) family businesses in the Kingdom of Bahrain – is offering the opportunity to work in a tax-free and multicultural environment. The family owns a large number of companies in many business sectors.

We are looking for an Operations-Business Manager for the company which is responsible for subsidiaries operating in Retail, F&B, FMCG and Real Estate sectors. The most suitable candidate for this position will have a deep understanding of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system. He / she will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: business development, planning and budgeting, finance, human resources, administration and IT.

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Oversee general business operations – his or her aim is to ensure that the organization is running as smoothly and efficiently as possible – and guide work teams for projects
- Monitor existing processes and analyse their effectiveness; create strategies to improve productivity and efficiency; manage quality assurance programs
- Manage day-to-day activities as well as improve operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s mission; specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning
- Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence
- Manage Support Services (HR, IT and Finance) and increase their effectiveness and efficiency through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions
- Project management with cross-functional teams to structure and ensure business objectives are met - to deliver more efficient internal processes and cost efficient operations
- Undertake strategic analysis and participate in strategic planning
- Ensure organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organization's financial functions. Oversee financial and managerial reporting
- Manage the annual budgeting and planning process
- Develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk

Requirements

- University Degree in Business Management / Finance
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Retail (preferably but not necessarily) / F&B / Real Estate / Investment Management
- Experience in Finance / IT / HR & Admin / Supply Chain
- Experience in leading and managing people
- Working experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system

Skills and competencies:
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace
- Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels, across the subsidiaries as well as cross-functionally
- Delegate responsibilities effectively
- Proven people manager
- Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
