Planning Engineer

Job description / Role

We are currently looking for a Planning Engineer to work with a leading medium sized building contracting company based in Bahrain.

The Planning Engineer will be an integral part of the of the project team and will be providing necessary assistance to the project execution team to achieve the deliverables in time, quality and budget.

- Preparation of contract programme in detail with significant milestones and to gain approvals from the Consultant/Client.
- Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of Contractor’s responsibilities and risks under the Main Contract, particularly in regard to the approved programme, procurement and claims for delays.
- Interfacing with the project team, procurement team, commercial team and sub-contractors to deliver the project objectives.
- Establishing reporting protocols to develop and monitor resource management (Labour/Plant)
- Cost & Resource loading of Contract Programme to produce project cash flows in coordination with the Cost Manager.
- Regular monitoring and reporting of actual progress at site vs. planned progress to develop risk registers and action plans in expediting the progress at site.
- Preparing delay analysis and successive time & cost claim reports for time extension or major change to the schedule with appropriate scheduling tools.
- Providing information, technical support and guidance to all members of the project controls team.

Requirements

- 2-5 years of minimum experience with medium to large scale building projects
- Masters or Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering
- Strong oral and written communication with good presentation skills
- IT literate and proficient with Microsoft Office tools and Planning Software’s
- Competent in technical aspects of planning
