Employment: Full Time

Our client is an investment firm and one of the largest diversified holding companies in the MENA region. They are currently looking for a Risk Manager

Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational:
- Proactively identify, assess and manage risks in a number of areas including corporate governance, regulatory and operational risk, business continuity, information and security risk, technology and Market risk
- Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organisation
- Developing and maintaining all risk related policies and procedures, in order to build an effective risk framework for the Company.
- Carrying out risk assessment; analysing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business
- Carrying out risk evaluation; comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organisation such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organisation's previous handling of risks

Reporting and Control:
- Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, for example, to the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks
- Identify the Key Risk Indicators in all areas of the Company, and give a risk weightage for each;
- Corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders
- Carrying out processes such as purchasing insurance, implementing health and safety measures
- Developing and maintaining business continuity plans to mitigate risks and prepare for if things go wrong.
- Conduct risk assessments of compliance to policy and standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors
- Developing Disaster Recovery Plan and make sure it is tested and workable,
- Providing support, education and training to employees to build risk awareness within the organisation
- Liaise closely with other control functions such as Audit and Compliance to make sure a proper corporate governance framework is established and maintained

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in a business related subject
- Professional Risk qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Risk Manager
- People management experience is desirable
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure;
- Ability to deal with Board Committees and members
