Job description / Role
Client is an established international contractor based in the Middle East and due to recent project wins within their civil infrastructure team they are looking to recruit senior civil engineers for their Bahrain operations. They are Ideally the Senior Civil Engineers will have a contractor background) and as this is high rise projects Airports or Hospitals experience is especially welcome.
In this role you will be a key member of their multi-disciplined engineering team. Whilst you will rely on your general civil engineering experience to be successful in this role you will have particular industry experience in managing high value high rise major projects and providing technical advice to both project teams and clients.
You will work on complex, large scale projects that deliver high standard outcomes for the company's clients.
Duties:
- Undertake general civil design work on multiple high rise projects for both government and private clients. An appreciation of all aspects of civil engineering is required.
- Manage and undertake responsibility of working on high value high rise projects in the Middle East
- Liaise with Clients and utility providers regarding designs including seeking approvals and providing construction support
- Checking calculations, specifications and drawings
- Develop and retain the high level of technical skill
- Training and mentor junior team members
- Develop and maintain relationships with external parties to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for the company from these relationships.
- Provide high quality technical advice to clients and ensures that the needs of clients are understood and met
- Project management activities will include seeking opportunities from clients, submitting proposals, project and design management for civil infrastructure projects.
- Create high performing, motivated and engaged teams via Performance Planning, Performance Management, appropriate Reward and Recognition, learning and development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- General civil engineering experience with a particular focus and passion for high rise projects like Airports or Hospitals particularly in the Middle East
- Strong relationships with major utility providers and knowledge of their respective design and construction approval procedures
- Minimum 10 years experience in a civil engineering role
- Experience in successfully leading project teams
- CP Eng qualified
- Contractor experience
