Senior Designer

Job description / Role

- Oversee smooth execution of design related activities within the Projects & Fit Out Department and on behalf of the Company
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures within the Design Section
- Facilitate maximum cooperation of Design Team towards Production & Projects and Retail Sales teams, Procurement Department and any other Departments and Sections as they may occur.
- Training and mentoring of design staff as and when required
- Empower the Design section personnel to act in a proper manner, in accordance with the principles laid down by the Company, as the first point of contact for walk-in customers as they may occur from time to time
- Ensure efficient design work is created, from concept through to final Production and Fit Out that is based on initial interactions with the customers and subsequent writing of an accurate and comprehensive design brief
- Guide and train the design team to ensure accuracy and feasibility of all of the design output, including coordination with the quantity surveying and site supervision teams based upon the agreed design brief
- Visit projects and customers, as is necessary, to get a feedback about the designs created, accuracy of surveys and designs and identify areas of improvement within the design team
- Conduct full appraisal of external consultants’, contractors’ and clients’ information, whether drawn, written, electronically delivered or in any other format to ensure the utmost understanding and accuracy of all information related to the Projects

Requirements

- Should have strong skills and competence in design tools like autoCAD, 3D Max, Photoshop, etc.,
- Should be skilled planning and organizing, time management and team leadership skills
- Should also have a good knowledge about Microsoft office applications
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Ability to communicate in Arabic is an advantage
- Should have at least 8-10 years of hands on experience of having worked in a design department of a construction or manufacturing organization, or an architectural or interior design office
- Experience of working in GCC countries is an added advantage
