Job description / Role
A regional Telecoms company that is looking to expand into new communications markets and grow on a regional basis is searching for a new CFO to join their head office team in the stunning tax free country of Brunei.
You will report to the CEO and Board of Directors regarding all financial matters relating to the company. You will also play a major role in the expansion of the company to an international level and a multi-platform level.
You will be developing local talent in Brunei and will therefore have previous experience of working with local talent, guiding and mentoring candidates through their early career and helping to make sure they can complete their training and become fully chartered/certified finance professionals. A strong understanding of emerging markets and experience working in one or more would give weight to your application.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in the Finance sector, with at least 5 recent years in Telecoms
- Experience working with an emerging market
- Experience developing local talent
- A degree in Finance/accounting or similar
- Exposure to the South East Asian market is a strong plus
- CPA/CA
- It is essential that you are fully confident and competent with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Having experience in the Western European market is a big advantage
