Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Position provides subject matter expert input to the Finance department in respect of IFRS, financial reporting and accounting policy. Role will also drive the national graduate development program and technical competency growth across all Finance departments.

Position is critical in maintaining and developing the core technical skills of the Finance team and in ensuring the annual IFRS statements are delivered in a timely manner and or high quality.

- Act as the companys subject matter expert on IFRS, including identifying and driving the resolution of all technical accounting issues throughout the organization. Review annually new standards issued for applicability to Qatargas.
- Contribute to the interpretation of any ambiguous clauses of the businesss numerous joint ventures, royalty, sales and other agreements to ensure they are properly reflected in the financial reports.
- Own the Accounting Policy Manual for Qatargas, ensuring it contains appropriate accounting policies and guidance specific to Qatargas. Update the manual annually.
- Coordinate and drive the annual statutory reporting timetable, both internally and externally to shareholders, conduct SME review of the financial statements prepared by Section Heads and manage shareholder and external audit comments to ensure final product is of high quality and fully IFRS compliant.
- Coordinate the National Graduate development program within Finance, including: identification and recruitment of new graduates in conjunction with HR an finance management; effective on-boarding/Day 1 process; establishing and managing individual graduate rotation and development programs; ensuring effective coaching of graduate through finance coaches; and establishing recruitment guidelines for new graduates

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar preferred.
- Internationally recognised qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- High degree of familiarity with IFRS with exposure to Financial Reporting under IFRS.
- Experience in accounting, reporting, budgeting or control within the Oil and Gas or similar industry would be desirable.
- Minimum 8 Years relevant experience required.
