Internal Media Services (IMS) Sales Officer - Qatar Airways - Doha

Achieve sales targets through existing and new business and ensure outstanding end to end client service at Internal Media Services (IMS). Deliver annual advertising budget forecasts from sales in Qatar and the Middle East and in International markets and with significant direct advertisers, supported by the Senior Business Manager. Travel internationally to promote activities of the business, forge strong client relationships and drive new business through proactive sales and through social and physical networking at relevant industry conferences and events. Maintain the detailed knowledge of new developments within global airport advertising markets and advise on future procurement and capital expenditure requirements

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Hamad International Airport Advertising Development
- Work closely with Senior Business Manager and draw on knowledge of developments in the OOH media landscape to identify and recommend new media advertising channels.
- Once the design concepts of the new sites are established, manage the site production work from the vendors, plan timelines and manage budgets.

Budget & Business Plan
- Support the Senior Business Manager to develop business plans for current and future financial years including sales targets and overhead costs.
- Support the Senior Business Manager to propose budgets for all internal and external cost centers including (but not limited to) internal recharges to other QR/HIA resources used, salaries and incentive schemes and external marketing resources.
- Generate accurate and timely reports on sales activity and performance (monthly and as required)

Sales
- Achieve targeted advertising sales from Qatar, Middle East and International markets.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to new and existing customers to sell new advertising programs and products.
- Support the Senior Business Manager in devising and implementing new or different ways to increase revenue generation e.g. develop policies for discounts and commission to accredited advertising agencies.
- Identify new ways to generate beneficial business leads e.g. social networks.
- Work with your client portfolio to deliver award-winning campaigns and media 1sts.
- Understand and follow international procedures and standards of sales and sales strategies.
- Direct, lead and manage Sales Executives regarding initiatives and presentations to Qatar, Middle East and International agencies and advertisers.
- Research and benchmark rate-cards for all advertising sites and media sold at Hamad International Airport (HIA)

Marketing & PR
- Maximise all opportunities to PR IMS campaigns and leverage these to:
- increase repeat sales and new business at HIA
- encourage internal approval of innovative and ground breaking campaigns
- improve awareness of the IMS brand and offering both internally and externally
- Educate media agencies and advertisers about how to maximise static and dOOH through creativity, innovation, technology and new trading models.
- Manage, liaise and contract with external resources.

Financial
- Ensure all costs are managed within budgets.
- Ensure that year-end profit targets are achieved.

Operations & System
- Work with the Senior Business Manager to establish and adhere to sales, advertising inventory management, administration, contract and financial systems that meet current industry expectations
- Management & Leadership

Regularly evaluate the sales and operations teams’ objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and recommend appropriate changes if needed.
- Oversee and supervise direct reports. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Development
- Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
- Train and develop new employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.
- Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management

Requirements

- At least 8 years relevant experience in business development in Airport Advertising industry in Middle East and other International markets
- A minimum of 5 year experience in project management and OOH media development
- Established strong relationship and rapport with network of media agencies in Qatar and GCC markets, and/or International markets
- Experience in servicing and meeting higher demand of media advertising clients
- Experience in other aspects of the airline/travel industry desirable
- Proactive self-starter and able to work under extremely tight deadlines.
- Proven track record of achieving highly ambitious media sales target of multi-million dollars per annum

Preferred
- Exposure to RFP preparation and supplier selection processes
- Experience of Budget control
- Experience in the out-of-home media industry and particularly digital out-of-home media highly desirable.
- Technically savvy and proficient with sophisticated advertising programs and delivery methods highly desirable.

Job Specific Skills:
- Good record of business management, which includes a high-end portfolio of clients served, the number of revenue achieved on airport advertising business
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfort with written and verbal communication – ability to create high-level reports and to present those to senior management as necessary
