Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Company profile:
MEP Contracting Company specialized in the design, installation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and low current systems.
Job Summary:
To provide technical design services based on customers’ needs and requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare multiple mechanical drawings (HVAC, firefighting and plumbing) from preliminary phase to design development phase
- Prepare shop drawings and as built drawings
- Provide design support to Sales and Project Manager as required
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers on all missing or confusing design related issues and propose mechanical solutions when needed
- Prepare mechanical calculations and schedules
- Coordinate with Other Trades (Electrical, Civil, Architect, etc...)
- Prepare Tender Documents, quotations and BOQ’s
- Develop quantity surveys & cost estimation
- Conduct site inspections and supervision when needed
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university
- Up to 5 years of experience in mechanical systems
- Ability to read and understand mechanical plans and schematics
- Knowledge of mechanical codes
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles
- Knowledge of mechanical software & AutoCAD 2D & 3D
- Attention to detail and good communication skills
