Scaffolding Manager - Western

Job description / Role

Our client is one of the largest Qatari contracting organizations employing over 5,300 employees. It has a proven track record for delivering large and challenging projects on schedule, within budget, and according to required quality & specifications. They have had a presence in Qatar for over 50 years. They are in urgent need of a western Scaffolding Manager.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Establishing an organization that includes documentation of all scaffolding issues and reporting to the Corporate HSE Department.
- Coordinating with Project Managers to forecast scaffolding requirements of both materials and labor.
- To manage the inventory and storage of all fixed and mobile scaffolding, materials. Updating to corporate and all projects on the availability of stock and deliverables.
- To manage the scaffold erectors, supervisors and inspector and ensure competency and certification. Establish and maintain a register of all scaffolding personnel and position.
- Providing technical knowledge and expertise and supervision for erecting, dismantling and scaffolding construction and housekeeping services.
- Ensuring scaffolding procedures, specification standards are included and followed in scaffolding erecting, construction and dismantling.
- Inspecting scaffolding erection prior to use. Providing inspection program for all scaffold structures to ensure that safety requirements are met.
- Ensuring that all materials are in good condition and free from defects and Scaff tag need to be implemented.
- Supervising and planning with the Scaffold Supervisor and Project Manager on daily scaffolding activities.
- Timely delivering and recovering to and from projects of required complete scaffolding.
- Participating in the planning of major maintenance and main shutdowns.
- Providing 24 / 7 “On Call” maintenance support for asset related issues and providing scaffolding support in the event of Plant Emergencies.
- Should be responsible and supporting the company’s HSE ad Quality policies and programs.
- Coordinating and communicating with Project Managers, HSE Managers and Construction team.

Requirements

- Experience in the Gulf is an advantage.

- Minimum 5 - 10 years of extensive experience in Scaffolding. Specifically spare parts management, proactive planning and leadership skills.
- Preferably 5 years in the GCC.
- Looking for a western Candidate.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent or vocational certification (CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor) from an accredited university.
