Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Draft policies and working procedures regarding finance.
- Manage and coach finance staff.
- Document control / prepare for audits (external/internal).
- Provide advice with regards procurement.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Install, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
- Devise and implement system for general accounting.
- Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
- Collect appropriate data and prepare government reports.
- Provide information to staff, students, and individuals or organizations outside of the university; explain accounting transactions; resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
- Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
- Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies.
- Create and maintain journal (entries).
- Approval on issued cheques by accountant.
- Control cash payments which are handled with cashier.
- Follow up on bad debts.
- Any other task given at the discretion of the Management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting, preferably an MBA holder.
- At least 3 years work experience as Accountant, preferably in an education sector.
- Excellent English communication skills. Knowledge in Arabic is an advantage.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Customer / student-oriented
- Excellent time management and supervisory skills.
- Ability to communicate with people of different cultures.
