Tunnel Ventilation Engineers

Job description / Role

We are looking for Tunnel Ventilation Engineers to work for a Main contractor on the Doha Metro project in Qatar

- Tunnel Ventilation Engineers
- While there will be an emphasis on metro system projects, our work encompasses the full range of underground buildings and tunnels, including; metro systems, railway stations, road tunnels, cable tunnels,
- Undertaking the design of ventilation systems on various road, rail and cable tunnels
- Working closely with principal designers to lead tunnel ventilation design
- Promoting the use of new tools and sustainable ventilation solutions
- Support fire and life safety assessments and tunnel ventilation design for normal, congested and emergency conditions
- Developing suitable network models (SES) and computational meshes (CFD) from the design geometry of each tunnel or station and the physics of the scenario
- Managing the production of schematics and general arrangement drawings, reports, and preparing and coordinating specifications
- Supervising and coordinating work with engineers of other disciplines
- Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs
- Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

Requirements

- Degree qualified in mechanical or building services engineering
- 10 years
- Chartered status preferred
- Must have Metro / Rail experience
- 10 years experience in the field of mechanical and tunnel ventilation design and experience across a range of medium to large scale projects and / or building types
- Experience of one-dimensional analysis of tunnel networks and/or computational fluid dynamics
- Be able to demonstrate, design and deliver building services engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects
- Proven success in contributing to a team-orientated environment
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen
- Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
- Possess an understanding of the regulatory requirements of international railway sector
