Architectural CAD Technician (ACT)

Job description / Role

The ACT will develop technical drawings and design documentation from schematic design stage to detail design and construction drawings. The ACT will work under minimum supervision, and have the ability to provide detailing suggestions for review by HOP/ senior staff. The ACT will have experience of the latest release of AutoCAD and adapt to the office CAD layering system and Z ref system. The ACT must have excellent knowledge of interiors, joinery and special joinery detailing.

The ACT will be a team worker capable of participating in a design team with minimal supervision. From time to time the ACT will also support the architects with co-ordination and meetings with engineering and interior design consultants.

STRATEGIC DIRECTION
- To undertake a programme of continual self improvement developing in 2D CAD (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD revit applications.

KEY OBJECTIVES
- Improve efficiency in production of technical documentation
- Maintain and improve the standard of construction and tender documentation
- Improve the co-ordination with sub consultancy disciplines
- Assist HOP with solving problems for detail documentation

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of drawings and schedules for execution of project
- Sound time management of the entire management of the entire production drawing process
- Manage program objectives
- Self starter, ability to work on own initiative/independently
- Ability to recognize and highlight technical problems. Provide solution at early stage of works

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Office and Marketing Administrator
- All architectural, interior design, FF&E and Administrative personnel

RESOURCES CONTROLLED/AUTHORITY HELD
- Responsible for project documentation
- Responsible for work executed by him/her self.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and suitably qualified individual for the post of Business Development Manager, Exams based either in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Purpose of job is to support the development and implementation of the Business Development and Marketing strategy for UAE Examinations by gathering market intelligence, identifying potential clients and stakeholders, building relationships, adding value to them, and ensuring agreed targets are met to help us meet our business development and overall strategic objectives.

- University Graduate in any discipline
- Minimum 2 years experience in Business Development / Sales & Marketing
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience
- Diploma in architectural drafting, civil engineering or architectural engineering
- Must have basic knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Cad requirements: 2011 AutoCAD version or latest release. Full knowledge of CAD layering system and X ref system.
- Revit 3-D drafting experience is desirable
- Proficient in MS office on a basic user is a requirement
