Area Sales Manager

Job description / Role

Our client is a leading distributor of automotive and heavy machinery spare parts. With a strong reputation in the local and international markets, they now require experienced Area Sales Manager to focus on the African market.

Based in Dubai and reporting to the Regional Director, your key responsibility will be to develop business in Africa within mining, oil and gas and drilling, governmental and development sectors.

Your responsibilities also include:
- Approaching key decision makers within the above sectors to promote the companys range of Units and spare parts
- Studying the various countries to understand the potential market
- Traveling across the African continent, specifically to Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Senegal and Libya, amongst others
- Setting up agency agreements in various countries
- Preparing sales forecasts and budgets
- Providing guidance and leadership to the sales team

Requirements

- 10 years sales experience, at least 5 at a managerial level with the automotive sector.
- Strong track record of sales to mining, oil and gas and drilling companies in Africa, gained within an Automotive context. Units sales will be particularly well thought of.
- Thorough understanding of how business is conducted in Africa
- Ability to travel extensively
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent English is essential. French is highly advantageous
- Ability to influence key decision makers
