Chief Accountant

Job description / Role

- Liason work with other international offices on a regular basis
- Overseeing the companies accounting function, working closely with the internal auditor in the Dubai office
- Should be able to handle the entire accounting activities independently up to finalisation of accounts and audit
- Working closely with the general ledger
- Preparation and presentation of monthly & quarterly financial statements
- Prepare reconciliations of bank statement, account payable and account receivable periodically and report if any discrepancies found
- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
- Liaison work with internal and external auditors, banks and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all payments to suppliers, staff, and other external parties are made according to company policies and procedures
- Analyse revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
- Reports directly to CFO and interfaces directly with other senior management team members
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Researches and analyses accounting matters
- Evaluates current accounting practices and policies and drives continuous improvement
- Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position. Ensures integrity of all financial information.

Requirements

- Must be a qualified experience accountant, plenty of experience, audit experience, creating financial reports
- Must be hands on, ambitious, hungry, and able to hold their own
- Wants to learn and grow within the company
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Managerial experience, will be guiding and advising a team
- Willing to travel to Iraq, Afghanistan and various other countries occasionally
