Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Established for almost 40 years our client is one of the leading commercial banks in Bahrain, they provide commercial financial services to the local and regional market and an intelligent financial solutions to a highly customer base. They are looking to recruit a Chief Representative.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible of developing and implementing appropriate business strategy and plans for the bank operations, in line with banks overall objectives as well as local economic and business conditions, with the aiming of bringing about business expansions and maximization of profits.

- Audit requirements: Ensure audit standards and compliance is maintained and audit recommendations followed
- Business Plan: Formulate business plans and budget for the UAE operations and gain approval from the Head office
- Business Strategy: Analyze business and economic conditions and propose approaches to risk participation, market segmentation, treasury and investment, marketing concept, retail and consumer business etc. in the best interests of the business. Maintain an Asset-liability management system that conforms to Central Bank guidelines as well as banks specified parameters
- External Interface: Establish and maintain effective working relations with key parties and customers to facilitate and enhance business prospects for the bank
- Human Resources Strategy: Formulate, propose and implement human resources strategy for the Dubai operations to ensure suitable organization structure and manpower plans in place. Participate in recruitment and selection process for senior and key positions.
- IT Strategy: Formulate, propose and implement IT strategy for the banks business in UAE, including decisions on aspects such as cost and security to ensure an efficient and cost-effective IT infrastructure
- Monitoring Results: Convey business strategy to head office, monitor business performance and ensure serious deviations from plan are addressed effectively. Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance
- Reports: Review comprehensiveness and accuracy of reports before forwarding to top management at head office
- Risk Management: Develop short and long term risk management approaches and a monitoring system to enable effective management of risk portfolio
- Team Management: Guide, motivate and direct team to perform effectively and work to their best potential

Requirements

- Relevant degree and certifications, preferably in Finance.
- 15 to 20 years experience in banking.
- 5 years experience in a senior position with responsibility for strategy formulation and implementation.
- Strong managerial skills, planning and analytical abilities.
- Good understanding of risk management and the impact and applicability for business & understanding in Local Business and economic environment.
