The Facilities Operations Director is a key Global Real Estate and Facilities Management (GREFM) role within the EMEA Region and is directly responsible for ensuring that consistent and optimized processes and services are delivered to customers within the region.

This includes identifying operational and strategic opportunities, review of the Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) provider/Partner’s Performance and ensuring financial and operational objectives are met.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position ensures the delivery of GREFM services (representing Facilities, Security and Design & Construction) within the office portfolio, to high levels of customer service and satisfaction for all building occupants. The Operations Manager is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships at site level and for leveraging synergies within the region.

Responsibilities include:
- Manage performance of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) provider
- Assist the respective Region Leads (FM/Security/D&C)
- Understand the organization and strategic direction at each location and help translate into a GREFM value add service delivery model.
- Assess space demands for all workgroups and proactively anticipate changes, in collaboration with the COE
- Balance concerns of business unit versus those of the overall organization
- Develop and present business cases to support change/investment
- Support space optimization and workplace strategies across EMEA through close interaction and collaboration with Design & Construction team
- Provide co-ordination of all GREFM services within markets. Promote and expand the remit of GREFM services
- Provide rapid response to business units and customers through localized presence
- Ensure clear lines of communication between the business units and GREFM Regional and COE teams.
- Build relationships with senior customers and GREFM colleagues/partners in the region
- Identify emerging customer needs and opportunities to provide value through sharing best practices and operational efficiencies throughout the EMEA region
- Align policies, processes, and best practices with business line strategies, thereby maximizing the value that GREFM delivers to customers
- Develop relationships with GREFM regional vendors
- Reviews performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Levels
- Ensure customer satisfaction with GREFM and vendor provided services through delivery of measurable results such as return on assets, return on capital, etc.
- Partner with GREFM Centers of Excellence and ensure regional alignment with GREFM Integrated Facilities Management strategic objectives
- Partner with Risk Management to protect and ensure business continuity within the region and compliance with the requirements as pertains to that region
- Provide local liaison between GREFM and other Thomson Reuters Enabling Functions, including Sourcing, Technology, Legal, HR, Finance
- Take on special projects and assignments as required
- Lead monthly IFM service provider business review meetings
- Reviews risk management and control framework and provide oversight on business continuity assurance
- Identify, assess and recommend new, transformational & continuous improvement opportunities to IFM partner.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferably finance, management, or engineering)
- Master’s Degree in business administration is desirable
- Direct Facilities Management experience is required, including personal experience of managing FM services at large commercial offices
- Fluency in English, and strong cultural awareness of national diversity within the region
- Vendor management skills with specific experience partnering with expert vendors in the region
- Deep knowledge of regional specific operational requirements and a knowledge of Thomson Reuters business and work practices
- Financial analysis and business acumen skills
- Process-mapping skill
- Comprehensive understanding of facility management associated with a multi location, international organization
- Strong leadership skills, exceptional business and finance acumen, and well-developed interpersonal skill
- Strong analytical, organizational and management competence
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, Archibus or a comparable property management system is required
- Ability to travel 50% of the time to other Thomson Reuters sites in order to oversee the IFM Partner’s performance and KPI reviews.
