Financial Controller - MEA
AED 25,000 + Family Status (Flights, Medical)

NTS Group are working with a leading multinational company to recruit a MEA Financial Controller.

The Financial Controller will provide support to the Regional Financial Controllers of Middle East and Africa, taking specific responsibility for managing, advising and supporting African Entities and Middle Eastern entities on the Balance Sheet, P&L and any financial and control matters/issues.

He/she is responsible for ensuring that internal controls and group policies are applied in order to ensure that the region’s assets are protected and adequately monitored and the Internal Control policies are followed.

He/she is recognised internally as specialist on complex technical and financial or tax matters.

Additional to the main activities listed below, the role may have involvement with transition of acquisitions and the consolidation and liquidation of companies. There will be support required on the regions people cost accounting and cash outflows forecast.

Main activities:

Controlling
- Manage the finances of the companies and ensure that all internal controls and financial policies set by the Group are applied and adhered to.
- Work actively with the business controllers; improve the visibility and importance of Finance within the region, ensuring buy-in from all other operational areas.
- Ensure that internal and external reporting requirements are met
- Prepare monthly operating expense forecast and annual budget
- Establish an efficient finance function with the SSC
- Ad hoc projects as required by region or group finance

Accounting
- Ensure correct monthly closing for several entities
- Balance sheet reconciliations and P&L Review and Analysis
- Inter-company recharge & reconciliation
- Cash flow management
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and local tax and statutory authorities
- Capacity and positive attitude to work with a Shared Service Centre in India

Tax Compliance and other responsibilities
- Ensure direct and indirect tax compliance within the region
- Ownership of tax return filing working with external providers
- Setup/Close entities within the region and liaise with lawyers, Treasury and Tax

Requirements

- Qualified Accountant with 2+ year’s post-qualification experience in Finance/Control/Accounting.
- Tax and Statutory filing experience
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of applications particularly Excel
- Knowledge of Oracle 11i preferred

Personal Attributes:
- Ability to effectively work together with and manage outside Financial Shared Service Centers and other outside service providers
- Travel of up to a maximum 20% of the time. But the Controller is actively encouraged to keep travel to a minimum and work remotely with the support services and consultants in the countries.
- Able to travel to the UK, Switzerland, South Africa, Kenya, UAE, Lebanon and Egypt.
- Ability to work and succeed in a multi-cultural environment
- Perfect command of English, English being the company’s business language. Other languages are an asset
