Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking for a GIS/Cad Specialist to work on multiple projects across the Middle East , but will be based in Dubai, UAE.

The successful candidate will:
- Determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.
- Participate in the initial development and implementation of a GIS system for the company.
- Develop and communicate GIS strategies, analysis results, and data to internal/external clients.
- Apply advanced engineering trechniques and analysis within a discipline.
- Manage GIS tasks independently and Serves as a technical leader for projects of large scope and complexity and are recognized as experts in their field of practice.
- This level of Engineer is a highly qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of current engineering theories and practices.
- May serve as a technical consultant in area of specialty for management or the client. Typically requires professional registration.
- Many assignments involve CAE/CAD (computer aided engineering/computer aided design) applications.
- Other requirements invlolve the direction and supervision of junior level personnel.
- May be eligible to travel or relocate according to project needs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- GIS experience in Planning region to work closely with Master Planners
- Able to balance workloads on multiple projects and complete tasks on time
- Analyze and edit spatial and tabular data for reporting purposes
- Familiar with integrating data from other systems
- Conducts surveys, studies, site investigations.
- Design Geo Databases in informative way by using subtypes and Domains.
- Develop new map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales
- Needs good experience towards DEM, DTM to generate contours and Hill shades.
- Must be proficient in the use of v10.x ESRI GIS software platform, and Google Earth.
- Perform GIS data quality control, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy; identifying and correcting errors or omissions in the data.
- Catalog and inventory GIS data, including metadata creation.
- Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
- Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist Section Supervisors with other administrative and technical duties.
- Prepare maps/figures for reporting purposes and field efforts for internal/external clients
- Excellent analytical and reporting abilities
- Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years experience, must have worked on GIS systems, Master-plans.
