Job description / Role
Inspire Selection are working on behalf of a government entity based in Dubai, currently searching for a UAE National HSE Manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSE and be responsible, at site and office level, to manage inspections at various locations throughout Dubai. The purpose of the role is to manage and deliver training materials, whilst organising sessions for contractors on HSE topics in order to build awareness and establish an HSE culture within each zone.
Further responsibilities also include:
- Supervising the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within the Inspections function is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets.
- Provide guidance and support to the team by trouble-shooting any escalated problems
- Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately in compliance with the clients requirements, policies and standards.
- Review, recommend and implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures, provides instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
- Review and approve recommendations for penalties and/or stopping the construction for any imminent danger at site due to violations and non-compliance in order to enforce the implementation and compliance of HSE regulations.
- Manage the preparation of inspection reports highlighting any violation observed during inspection, and recommend and communicate action to be taken in order to rectify the issue in a timely and compliant manner.
- Ensure preparation of statistics of accidents and violations in order to enable analysis of the trends and records of individual contractors at construction sites in each zone and to contribute to the improvement of the safety record.
- Ensure the status of each violation/fine at site is updated on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis to generate periodical reports.
- Gather input to develop the weekly and monthly reports for the section in order to report progress on compliance with SLAs.
Requirements
- BSc degree in any discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role with at least 2 years of management experience.
- Excellent English/Arabic language and communication skills, particularly writing skills.
- Knowledge of local and free zone laws, rules and HSE regulations in the region.
- Experience and an in depth knowledge in HSE best practices.
- Experience in leading teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
