Employment: Full Time

EMR is an emerging markets’ foremost provider of recruitment solutions specialised in most industrial segments and key functions. We are currently assisting the Autism Trust Foundation in their recruitment drive for their current expansion plans.

ATF is a non-profit organisation registered in the UK and the United Nations’ Department of Economic and Social Affairs, with centres in 9 different countries to date and has been in the UAE since 2011. ATF centres provide one-on-one therapy sessions. Its initiatives include workshops that provide home-based therapy and parent training. It also holds seminars to impart necessary knowledge to parents as well as develop skills in the management of children’s complex behavioural issues.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Adapt school / centre environment, tools and materials to improve student function and facilitate client access to curricular and instructional activities
- Assess client’s fine motor and development skills to determine their needs and develop recommendations
- Implement therapeutic activities, providing appropriate care to clients and/or supporting client’s IEP Plan for use in classrooms
- Assess and identify individual needs of clients with respect to various occupational therapy issues and develop appropriate intervention plans and programs to address their needs
- Provide consultation and training to teachers, parents and other stakeholders
- Conduct training workshops and public education presentations and to assist in the research and development of occupational therapy
- Participate and collaborative consultation model to provide requested information
- Review / revise client’s occupational therapy goals
- Develop plans for services and make recommendations to implement goals
- Maintain files / records to ensure that such devices are used appropriately and to help client achieve optimal benefits
- Research for resources and methods such as intervention and treatment techniques to determine the appropriate approach for addressing the client’s functional goals
- Carry out any duties and responsibilities necessary to support the department or team
- Ensure the safety of the learners

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational therapy
- At least one year experience in handling children with special needs
- Sensory integration experience preferred
- UAE experience is preferred but is not compulsory
- English communications skills
- Preferrably Filipinos but position is open to any nationality
