Paralegal

Job description / Role

The main purpose of the Paralegal is to provide complete and total support to the Legal department with regard to all administrative and legal procedures.

The Paralegal will report directly the Legal Counsel and in directly to the CFO and President when required. He/She will maintain relationships with all the departments within the business like finance, real estate, marketing, sports business, HR etc.

Responsibilities include:
- Draft, review and amend legal documents such as contracts and JV agreements for all departments and business units as required ensuring that legal implications are clearly defined and explained
- Assist the Legal Counsel with advising on the operations of the company
- Attend meetings and work groups in relation to negotiations

His/Her decision making skills will lie completely on the back of the Legal Counsel and all legal advice will need to be pre-approved. The main service of the Paralegal is to provide administrative and legal aid to the Counsel on all legal department matters.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal studies from an accredited Law School and three to five years of corporate law experience.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures, precedents, government regulations legal processes.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling and leadership techniques.
