Job description / Role
Working with minimum supervision, oversee the day to day running of the Site Based Payroll Team to include Payroll and Time and Attendance Processing for Transguard Group. Ensure that the Payroll Department follows payroll best practice and complies with all Transguard policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Management of the site Based Payroll Team to include staff recruitment, training, performance management. Ensure that all staff understand the current policies, procedures and legislation relating to payroll
- Ensure that all advances and deductions from salaries are processed on time and accurately
- Review and approve all payrolls as per company policies and procedures. Communicate with staff at all levels on any issues relating to the payroll approval process.
- Resolve any potential issues that occur, including late receipt of time and attendance reports which may result in the payrolls being processed and paid late.
- Work with the Payroll Bureau Service and Technical Manager on the Implementation of process improvements across the payroll function to increase efficiencies and controls around the payroll data
- Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators are met on a monthly basis and allocate work accordingly.
- Advising Operations Managers in the current payroll process, working with the managers to find solutions to out of the Box Payroll Issues.
- Proactively communicate with Operations, HR and Finance to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data.
- Resolution of issues relating to the transfer of monies to employees accounts, including communication with Salary Card provider and all relevant Banks.
- Work closely with the Operations Teams and Departments across Transguard to ensure the Payroll Team provide a first class payroll service and excellent customer service that exceeds all customer expectations to include monthly Departmental meetings / Quarterly workshops and training session.
- Assist the Payroll Bureau Service Manager with the reconciliation of the monthly payroll control accounts.
Requirements
- Managing high volume payroll for 10,000+ employees
- At least 5-10 years of work experience required in payroll management
- Excellent written and spoken English is a must
- Good customer service skills
