Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The senior architect is going to lead architectural design, organize and develop design teams from concept design through to construction drawings and tender documentation. From time to time the senior architect should also have the ability to support the head of section in developing concept designs. Client liaison will also be necessary throughout the documentation and award phases.

The senior architect should be an experience team worker and have a proven track record of leading a multi-disciplinary design team with minimal supervision. The senior architect should capable of producing quality hand-drawn sketches or computer drawn 3D sketches to illustrate design ideas.

KEY OBJECTIVES
- Lead design team to produce quality construction and tender documentation
- Co-ordinate sub-consultancy disciplines with development of architectural documentation
- Manage production of design documentation in accordance approved budgets
- Improve efficiency in production of quality design documentation
- Assist head of section with concept design development

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of drawings schedules for execution of project
- Delegation and supervision of junior architects and CAD team
- Preparation of relevant design solutions for execution of project
- Co-ordination and management of appointed sub-consultants
- Time management of junior architects and CAD team in accordance with approved budget
- Research and awareness of international trends
- Report progress at weekly project meetings
- Motivation of the design team in pursuit of excellence

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Director/Head of Architecture project progress, financial reporting, resource requirements / allocation
- Head of architectural section day to day reporting and review of issues related to design and execution of work
- Head of interior design section support on technical and design issues
- Project manager build-ability, technical options, material performance standards, shop drawing review

RESOURCES CONTROLLED/AUTHORITY HELD
- Responsible for work executed by junior designers and CAD staff within design team
- Responsible for the client contact
- Responsible for co-ordination and work executed by appointed sub-consultants, as well as certification of sub-consultants payments.

STRATEGIC DIRECTION
- The senior architect must establish a personal development plan and follow a structured of programme of CPD with particular focus on architectural design and changing trends and developments.

Requirements

- Have a flair for creating conceptual designs
- Be capable of producing quality 3D renderings to illustrate design ideas.
- Be aware of current trends in architectural design, and be enthusiastic and passionate about architecture.
- Relevant recognizes architectural qualification
- Ideally worked with reputed international consultant practices
- A minimum of 5 -10 years professional experience post qualification
- Be energetic, pro-active and a natural creative individual
- Preferably a member of relevant professional industry association
- Well organized creative individual with ability to think outside the box
